Tax Credit

Support Your Neighborhood School

Arizona law allows taxpayers to support public schools and receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit. You can contribute to extracurricular programs and receive either a $200 credit for individual filers or a $400 credit for married couples filing jointly. Your contribution goes directly to the school programs you care about!

Why It Matters

  • You decide where your support goes. Whether your child participates in sports, music, arts, field trips, or clubs, your donation supports the programs those students care about most.

  • It costs you nothing extra. The amount you donate lowers your tax bill dollar for dollar, thanks to this unique state benefit.

  • Anyone in Arizona can contribute. You do not need to have a child enrolled in the district to participate—and corporations are not eligible for this credit.

How to Contribute

  1. Decide on your contribution amount. You may donate up to $200 as an individual or up to $400 for married couples filing jointly.

  2. Designate a school or program. Specify where your gift should go—this ensures it supports the extracurricular activity that matters most to you.

  3. Submit your donation. You may donate online or by mail, using the district’s designated form or portal. A receipt will be sent for tax-filing purposes.

This opportunity is made possible under Arizona Revised Statute (A.R.S.) §43-1089.01, which allows taxpayers to receive a tax credit for contributions made to support public school extracurricular activities. Tax-related questions should be directed to a tax professional.
