Group Life, AD&D, Voluntary Life & AD&D

To ensure that all eligible employees have a basic level of protection, the district provides basic life and AD&D insurance coverage. Basic life and AD&D provide financial protection for loss of life, limb and/or sight. Coverage is provided by Sun Life Financial. Eligible employees will receive a life insurance benefit in the amount equal to two times the employee’s annual salary.

Voluntary life insurance is additional coverage employees can elect. Coverage is available for your dependents, even if you don’t elect coverage for yourself.

Voluntary AD&D insurance is additional coverage employees can elect. The employee must elect coverage for themselves in order to cover their dependents.

Employer Paid Short Term Disability (STD) Insurance

The District provides eligible employees with short-term disability insurance at no cost. Approved claims are payable on the 91st day of an absence and may be paid for up to three months. The benefit paid is 66 2/3 of the employee's base pay.

Voluntary Short-Term Disability Insurance 

Approved claims for the short-term disability insurance are payable on the 8th day of absence and may be paid for up to three months. To have this coverage, employees must enroll as a new hire or during open enrollment. 

The Employee Assistance Program is a professional service that is designed to help employees address issues that arise in everyday life, both at work and at home.
