  • CEARCH Virtual Schoolhouse - Visual thinkers will love the Virtual Schoolhouse; its site map is cleverly designed to look like a school's floor plan. Enter a classroom, and you'll find an alphabetical listing of sites with information ranging from aeronautics to zoology. Visit the computer lab to discover Web tips and tricks, and browse professional development information in the teacher's lounge. In short, this site is a huge, nicely organized directory of links.
  • Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators - Thorough and updated site with many categories.
  • Teachers Helping Teachers - A great place to share ideas, concerns, and questions with other professionals world wide.
  • U.S. Department of Education - An excellent site for all sorts of educational information including current research.
  • Ed''s Oasis - If surfing cyberspace makes you feel lost in space, visit this friendly site where you are guided along by two tech-savvy cartoon characters named Edie and Ed. Draw inspiration from interviews with "master" teachers, connect with other teachers through The Oracle (the site's listserv), and read up on educational happenings in its newsletter. One particularly useful area is the Lesson Plan Library--a well-organized treasure trove of Internet-based lesson plans, arranged by grade and school subject.
  • The Math Forum: Teacher2Teacher - It's all math, all the time at this site devoted to answering an incredibly diverse array of questions related to math education. The dozens of discussion threads contain expert answers to questions that range from "How do I teach ninth-grade math using manipulatives?" to "What is the best software package to use with my textbook?" Check the vast archives to see if your question has already been answered; if not, send it in.
