As a user of the G.E.S.D. computer network, I have read, discussed, and hereby agree to

comply with the following rules to gain access to e-mail and the Internet through the school

district's network:

I am to follow the same behavior rules as outlined in the school handbook

I will not expect that files stored on district servers will always be private

Within reason, my freedom of speech and access to information will be honored

I may not send or display offensive messages or pictures

I may not use obscene language

I may not harass, insult or attack others

I may not violate copyright laws

I may not use another's password

I may not trespass in another's folders, work or files

I may not intentionally waste limited resources

I may not use the network for commercial purposes

As the parent or legal guardian of the student signing above, I grant permission for my son or

daughter to access the G.E.S.D. computer network for such services as electronic mail and the

Internet. I understand that students may lose access privileges for violations of the rules stated

above. I understand that some materials on the Internet may be controversial or potentially

offensive, but I accept the responsibility for discussing, with my child, appropriate selection,

sharing, and exploring on the Internet.
